you rock....

look at that set list....those were the days! when they played SO MANY songs....and after the big first set, you know they come back with a long jam in the middle of the LOWLY 6 songs of the second! i read it is an epic other one but havent heard it yet...

the southern swing of that tour found the boys with THREE SHOWS IN TEXAS (San Antonio, Fort Worth, and Austin) and then on to Albuquerque NM on 11/17 before finally washing up back in cali. (11/20 pauley pavilion L.A.)

playing in the remote underbelly of the lower 48 seemed to suit the dead, on the plains of iowa and in the south, steeped in history, close to mexico, and throw eugene in there.... playing in these outlaw towns seemed to bring out the gun-slinger in the boys...all the cowboy lyrics have more meaning -- and the jams take on a different attitude...maybe more rootsy and psychedelic and less jazzy....but that;s just probably too much speculation....it would be nice if it fit together that way but who knows

i have been digging on the San Antonio show recently and have long been a fan off 11/15...thanks for putting this one up....
